Target of Teaching

1. Establish an excellent teaching environment for learning practical, smart, digital content information and technology.

2. Create an excellent life-long learning environment that continuously promotes the technical skills of professional computer engineers.

3. Construct a superb and distinguished study environment that simultaneously provides computer skills training and computer ethic cultivation.

Unique Features

The College of Computer Science consists of the Department of Information Management (IM), the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering (CSIE), and the Department of Computer and Communication Engineering (CCE). The goals of these departments are teaching and researching in order to focus on integrating the resources of each department to explore the technology in the design, processing, communication, and management of digital content. We establish a unique teaching and research environment for applying smart information technology on digital content, foster professionals in the domains of artificial intelligence, digital communication, and fabrication of digital content that will be wanted in the information era.

Direction of Development

Foster students' practical experience and integration capability in developing information related systems, as well as extend student capability of exploring possible ways to apply information technology. The college of computer science focuses on the development of practical application, and emphasizes collaboration with industry. The students' abilities in organizing, analyzing, and decision-making are promoted through their participation in practical project training. Periodically, the school will conduct industry visits and information technology conferences, inviting scholars and experts to pass on practical experience as well as the latest information technology.

In addition, the college will proactively strive for summer internship opportunities for students. This will let the students learn industry characteristics and business flow, integrating studying and doing.

Honorable Achievements

The departments of CSIE and CCE, as well as IM department, were accredited by IEET on engineering and technology education in 2007, and 2014, respectively. All signatories of the Washington Accord recognize graduates from a college accredited by IEET that they are equipped with the fundamental education necessary for conducting engineering projects. These students share the same rights and interests as the students graduated from colleges accredited by the domestic accreditation organization in any signatory of the Washington Accord.
